This week my Hero has to be ODEON cinema. Whilst watching the latest instalment of the Iron Man franchise, the cinema suffered two power cuts. This may have ruined the cinematic experience and film for some, but I walked away with two Cinema tickets for free! Winning!

Birthday’s are my Hero this week. It was my wife’s birthday on Monday and the rest of the week has been spent preparing the ground ready for my son’s 5th birthday celebrations this weekend. Hip, hip…

My Villain this week is old age. I had my haircut on Tuesday and there were definitely more grey hairs than brown left on the floor following my monthly trim.

This week I was fortunate enough to relive some of my childhood memories and watch the WWE live at the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena. A great night, that I thoroughly enjoyed thanks to the appearance of the New Age Outlaws. Despite both men being nearly in their 50s, they received the biggest pop of the night and showed these old dogs still have what it takes! Heroes the New Age Outlaws.

My biggest challenge this week has been eating my morning bagle. With summer fast approaching it’s time to shape up and the bagle isn’t making it easy. For this reason my Villain has to be my bagel.

I’ve had a pretty action packed week this week. The highlight of the week has been meeting some great people. Some are clients, some are hopefully future clients and some are close friends. I’ve also spent a large part of this week chatting and contacting people in the design community, all of whom are great people that are eager to help where needed. Meeting good people is truly inspiring. More of it please.

The downside to meeting great people and generally just having a pretty hectic week is that my batteries have run quite low. My Villain this week is not fuelling myself properly. When I’m busy I tend to not eat healthily, miss regular exercise and work a little bit longer than I should. It’s a bad habit. Back to the gym next week, back to the good diet and back to regular early nights. It’s boring being old!

This week I stumbled upon ‘The Remix Music Bottle’ from Coca—Cola. The remix bottle listens to the sounds when opened, then bottles them back up. Once re-opened again it releases the sound, changing the brand experience. This week’s Hero, Coca Cola.

I made a school boy error this week by forgetting my rugby kit for training. It appears that this weeks hectic schedule has caught up with me. For that reason, time is this weeks Villain.

This week I’ve fallen into the trap of being a couch potato. Whilst I’ve stopped my regular channel surfing, ‘Come Dine With Me’ is increasingly becoming my favourite pass time. Villain…TV!

After Petr Cech’s heroics against Man Utd on Easter Monday, the Chelsea stopper has to be my Hero this week. Fergie described it as ‘unbelievable’ whilst many grasped in disbelief. Great goal keeping… Cech mate!

This year I’ve been fairly lucky with injuries, so on Sunday I was devastated to hear that I’ve sprained my AC Joint. Spending 3 hours in A&E is not how I planned my Easter Sunday. Great stuff! Sport injuries are this weeks Villain.

My Hero this week is April Fool’s day, j’adore practical jokes (not sure why I went all French then but heh ho) and this year I loved the way in which multi-national companies took part in the occasion playing all manner of pranks ranging from a glass bottomed aeroplane from Virgin to the Smell-o-vision search engine from Google. Bazinga!

My choice of Villain this week is the ridiculous statement from the walking egg lookalike, Works and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith who foolishly claimed he could live on £53 a week. Needless to say this has left quite a few people unhappy even to the extent that an online petition has been created with at the last count 433,130 people asking him to back up his claim. Egg, well and truly scrambled.

One of our longstanding clients, automotive dealer Griffin Mill broke the news that they would be joining their two sites in Pontypridd via cable car. The Managing Director explained, ‘We want the journey to be more than a trip, it’s going to be an experience. We’ll be serving Nespresso coffee and pastries, but also have to be mindful that due to the cutting-edge nature of this new cable car system, it’s possible some hitches may be encountered during early trips. Having some provisions in the event of a car getting stuck is of paramount importance.’

Twitter announced that they were launching a two-tiered service, basic Twtter with merely consonants and the premium Twitter version which would include vowels for an additional 5 dollars a month. The reason? ‘We believe that by eliminating vowels, we’ll encourage a more efficient and dense form of communication.’

Virgin Atlantic announced the launch of the first-ever glass bottomed plane, ‘created to ensure passengers can enjoy both an unparalleled flying experience, as well as a selection of stunning landscapes from the comfort of their seats.’

Automotive giants, BMW proudly informed the news of the launch of their limited edition BMW P.R.A.M. (Postnatal Royal Auto Mobile). ‘For those who are ‘too posh to push’ this masterpiece of motherhood even comes fitted with N.A.P.P.I.E. (Nanny-Assisting Petrol-Powered Injection Engine).’

The Guardian newspaper unveiled a new exciting way to harness the power of online media with its’ augmented reality product, ‘Guardian Goggles’. A spokesman from The Guardian said, ‘For some time, our users have been telling us they want an even more immersive Guardian experience, without the hassle of having to reach for their phones, or switch on their iPads, and Guardian Goggles are the answer.’

Tim Liston, Competition Director of YouTube let the world know that the purpose of the website was merely a creative contest to locate the best video ever produced.

Google launched, ‘Google Nose‘ in beta format, a new smell-o-vision search engine enabling smell based searches of 15 M+ scentibytes from the Google Aromabase.

Google also unveiled, the ability to locate the long lost treasure of the infamous pirate, Captain William Kid via Google Maps treasure mode.

PJ and Duncan (aka Ant and Dec) are my Heroes this week. Their performance of ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rumble’ on ‘Saturday Night Take Away’ had me in hysterics. A vintage performance from the boys which led to over 1 million hits on YouTube and top the iTunes download charts. Check it out here.

Sugar is my Villain this week. I just can’t get enough of the stuff; Cakes, Yum Yums, Clubs, Burgers and Biscuits. Not good, sort it out Harry.

My Hero this week goes to the superb star-studded Western film, ‘Lawless’, starring Tony Hardy, Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce. The film revolves around three brothers who are part of a bootlegging gang in Franklin County, Virginia and are threatened by a new deputy who attempts to take a cut of their profits. If you like guns, action-a-plenty and great actors (not including Shia LeBeouf) then this is a must watch. I loved it so much that I watched it twice in succession. Oh and the soundtrack is pretty nifty too.

My Villain this week is the ‘nanny state’ as believe it or not a school in Essex this week banned triangle shaped flapjacks due to a pupil being hurt. This half-baked decision really does take the biscuit.

Our head honcho, chief and boss has vacated the studio over Easter in an attempt to locate sunshine. We begrudgingly wish him all the best on his adventure as we rattle our teeth enduring our extended Winter.

It’s our first month since we started our new initiative #makethingsbetter and we’re happy to say the feedback has been extremely positive with several new people joining our weekly smile brigade, one from as far as Croatia. We’ve even had requests for prints… all we can say at this stage is watch this space!

Being a proud Welshman my Hero this week unquestionably has to go to the Wales rugby side retaining the 6 Nations tournament by beating our arch-enemies England 30-3. You can relive the historic occasion via watching the highlights via the BBC website, listening to a catchy song by Ian Marks or by purchasing a t-shirt from my store.

My Villain this week goes to the loveable rogue that is my kitten, Tigger. Each morning at 3am, 5am and 6am he likes to jump on my bed, go around the headboard and butt his head into mine, attempting to wake me up. When that doesn’t work he uses the sneaky tactic of licking my scalp. I love the little fella to death but it’s not the type of wake up call I want to come to get used to… grrrr.

After last weekends Heroics, I don’t think we can have no complaints about this weeks Hero…Smiles all round.

With a major back log of rugby fixtures to be played and more rain heading our way, it looks like another washout for Welsh sport this weekend. Villain? Rain!

My Hero this week has nothing to do with rugby (shock). We had parents evening this week and were pleasantly surprised to discover our 4 year old son is doing very well in school. He obviously doesn’t follow his father.

My Villain this week is this bloody awful weather. Instead of enjoying traditional spring time weather, we’ve had flooding and snow. Some sunshine would be nice, sometime soon.

My Hero this week is the people of The University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC) in Lima, Peru. Their students teamed up with DraftFCB and created the world’s very first water producing billboard. The humid conditions allowed them extract water from atmosphere which was then purified. Many people now have access to clean drinking water. Great story! Read more here.

As much as I love being cwtched up in bed, my Villain this week has to be my mattress. Agonising back pains have been the bane of my life this week. Time for you to go in the shredder! Mwahaha!

My Hero this week is, The Wire, an American television drama series set and produced in and around Baltimore, Maryland. I’m currently glued to the 3rd series and chomping at the bit for Love Film to send me my next DVD. Must see tv.

My Villain without question is the shambolic performance by the team I’ve been supporting all my life, Everton who conceded 3 goals in 3 minutes to Wigan within the FA Cup quarter final. Needless to say this result was greeted with much happiness from my non-Everton supporting friends and for the majority of this week I’ve endured several tweets, phone calls and texts. Hopefully, we can now concentrate on doing better in the league but based on that performance I can only dream of watching European football next season.

My Hero this week has to be the rugby Six Nations. It’s not been the greatest spectacle this year, the matches have been often played in terrible conditions on equally terrible pitches, but the drama has still been of the highest order. This weekend sees the final matches being played. England visit Cardiff looking for their first Grand Slam in 10 years and Wales still have the chance of winning the Championship. It’s all teed up for a great finale.

My Villain this week is payment terms. No different to other businesses, we seem to be in a constant struggle to be paid for work completed or carried out a long, long time ago. This is a continuous gripe of mine. Surely if all parties stuck to payment terms this would help get the wheels of industry turning more smoothly?
