Leons Handmade Sauces
Brief
Leon’s Handmade Sauces is an artisan food company producing beautifully blended cooking sauces that are sold in numerous delis and shops throughout the UK. The sauces are made using only the finest ingredients and are inspired by the founders Mediterranean roots. Leon’s Sauces had begun to establish a small, loyal customer base within farmers markets and some local delis. However, they had struggled to get larger stores to stock their sauces and expand their customer base. We were approached with an initial brief of developing a website presence to aid with the expansion of the business.
Result
Leon’s Handmade Sauces has grown both its customer base and product range considerably since the refresh. Whilst not all of this can be attributed to our involvement with the brand, Leon does acknowledge our input. Leon commented, ‘After an initial briefing meeting, Huw and his team came back with an outline presentation showing a number of different directions we could go in. I was impressed by how much background research into my potential market they had done. I’m thrilled with the results; they produced a distinctive design with a lot of impact on the shelf. Selling the sauces instantly became a lot easier. Many customers have placed orders just on the strength of seeing the jars. I’m really proud of my brand and I certainly couldn’t have done it without the help of Huw David Design.’
Solution
Following brand evaluation and positioning workshops, we were able to identify key objectives. This led to a brand refresh, where we were able to capture Leon’s aspirations and develop these into a tangible solution. We developed a brand that was contemporary and vibrant, whilst being professional and desirable. We have developed the identity, produced labelling and packaging, designed and developed the company website and also stationery and sales materials for Leon’s Sauces, ensuring brand values are consistent across all items.
